We've compiled this list of services and prices for you to give you a sense of what to expect. Cost of Bike services, Bristol For a regular bike service in Bristol, expect to pay around £45-£55. Some places will offer a partial service for around £30, and full services and be anything from £70 to £120 (plus of course the expense of any parts if you are ordering something specific). If you have a puncture or your chain or brake cable has snapped- you can go into most shops and they tend to be extremely helpful, often getting you right back on the road. Bike maintenance workshops in Bristol The most popular bike maintenance courses or workshops are run by The Bike Man (Gloucester road) and Muddock (City Center). In these courses you can get a good handle of the basics, tyre and wheel replacement, cable tightening, brake safety checks etc so you feel confident heading out on your own. Bike maintenance workshops in Bristol tend to cost around £40 to £50 per person. Muddock offer the courses for £50 per head. TLD cycles have offered bike maintenance workshops in the past, but not since the pandemic, it seems. THey have a 'coming soon' page for how-to's of bike repair on their website which might be worth checking out in the near future. Bike workshop use in Bristol The Bristol Bike Project in Easton offers bike workshop space a few times a week to do your own fixes. So does Bikesmiths, based out of Southville with workshops space in Ashton (usually open on weekends). These are great options if you want to try doing work yourself but don't have the right tools or set up. booking into one of their bays can be a really affordable way to do things and there are often other bike enthusiasts around to lend a hand. The Bristol Bike Project in Easton have drop-in sessions where bike enthusiasts are available specifically to help with whatever you are trying to do or need help with. They also offer womxn nights, specially designed for womxn to use the maintenance spaces - with an extra friendly and welcoming vibe.
